Solar Education
The solar industry is expanding rapidly and is creating new jobs in many workforce sectors including engineering, electrical construction, roofing, and specialty contracting. We are currently developing the capacity to cultivate talent for the solar industry through multiple programs and certifications.
Solar Instructor Professional Development (SIPD) Certificate:
This program is designed to support the development of solar faculty members and instructors and those seeking credentials as ISPQ Accredited Solar Instructors and Master Trainers. Graduate Certificate in Solar Energy Engineering:
This 10 credit online course series is designed for individuals with baccalaureate degrees in engineering or science and includes optional tracks in solar PV or solar thermal systems. (Learn More)
Certified Solar Roofing Professional (CSRP):
Starting in 2011, the Northern Mid-Atlantic Solar Education and Resource Center will co-offer preparatory course materials supporting the Roof Integrated Solar Energy Certified Solar Roofing Professional program that has been jointly developed by the National Roofing Contracting Association and the Center for Environmental Innovation in Roofing.
